Nick Fairburn - Placement Student 19-06-2023
In June 2023, Nick Fairburn has joined us for a placement year from The University of the West of England, Bristol, where he is in his second year of studying Robotics.
Nick has had an interest in science and engineering from a young age, as his mother and father are both from technical backgrounds and loved sharing their knowledge with their son. Nick has a keen interest in control theory, embedded programming and signal processing.
While at Xor Systems, Nick hopes to improve his technical skill set along with his understanding of the engineering industry. He looks forward to learning new skills, particularly in web & desktop app development, embedded software design, and IoT development. Most of all, he is looking forward to meeting new people and working in a team of passionate engineers.
In his spare time, Nick enjoys playing guitar with his band, watching and playing rugby union, and reading. He also enjoys spending time in the garden with his cats.
